Las Vegas – Todd Horton, CEO of Summit-Tek, was recently named to the National Small Business Association (NSBA) Leadership Council. NSBA is the nation’s oldest small-business advocacy organization and operates on a staunchly nonpartisan basis. The Leadership Council is a group of small business owners who make up NSBA’s grassroots network. It was created at the direction of NSBA’s Board of Trustees to expand the brand in all parts of the United States with a membership who is visible in the business community on a local, state, or national level. Mr. Horton, a recognized leader in the small-business community, joins the NSBA Leadership Council alongside other small-business advocates from across the country as they work to promote the interests of small business to policymakers in Washington D.C.
“As a small-business owner, I see on a daily basis the importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulation. Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable me to take our collective small-business message to the people that need to hear it most: Congress. I joined the NSBA Leadership Council as part of my efforts to tackle many of the critical issues facing small business, including tax reform, tariff implications, regulatory restraint, health care costs and how the Affordable Care Act impact small business. “
Mr. Horton has accepted a seat on NSBA’s Economic Development Committee. This Committee oversees all issues relating to small-business finance and access to capital, including credit cards, lending, bankruptcy law, securities issues and venture capital. The Committee also deals with federal small-business programs under the U.S. Small Business Administration as well as federal procurement initiatives and international trade and handles innovation and technology issues such as patent reform.
